We've completed the Moodle upgrade and server migration just in time for the holidays. The new "server" is no more the Raspberry Pi 4 but also a small machine. It is a ZOTAC ZBOX CI329 nano, a fan-less mini-server "powered by" a completely silent, energy-saving Intel Celeron N4100 CPU, 8 GB RAM and SSD storage.
The new Moodle version is 4.5 LTS, released October 2024. If your are not already familiar with it, read Moodle LMS 4.5: Unlock the power of AI for your courses for its new features. Of course the hottest of them all is its AI subsystem enabling AI-powered content generation. On top of that this site contains over 60 additional plug-ins - from H5P to mathematics question types Formulas and STACK to computer programming tools CodeRunner and the VPL.
